Open the Light Project was fortunate enough to catch up with the super cool and super talent Michael Copon at the Fil-Am Fest in sunny San Diego this past Saturday, October 2, 2010. Michael Copon is a Filipino-American actor, model, and singer. He began his career appearing in commercials and print ads for popular clothing brands such as Old Navy, PacSun, Sketchers, Nike, Reebok, Gap, and American Eagle. Michael’s first big step in his on-screen acting career took place shortly after when he landed a role on the Fox Kids Network playing the Blue Power Ranger, Lucas, on the television series Power Rangers. Michael also received the honor of being named one of People Magazine’s “50 Hottest Bachelors.”
He is most notably recognized for his starring role as “Felix” on the hit TV show One Tree Hill, and has also made numerous guest appearances on popular programs such as CSI Miami, Scrubs, Reno 911, That’s So Raven, Even Stevens, and also co-starred in the original series Beyond the Break. His film appearances include All You’ve Got, Dishdogz, and Bring It On: In It to Win It. In 2008, Michael secured the lead role in the film The Scorpion King II: Rise of a Warrior, as well as lead roles in soon to be released theatrical films, Night of the Demons and Boyband, which he also co-produced. Recently, Michael also landed a role on CBS’s re-made series, Hawaii 5-0, which will be airing in September 2010.

After his win on the VH1 television series, But Can They Sing, Michael has worked hard in the recording studio self-producing and writing his debut album, along with Grammy Award nominated and winning producers. His album will include majestic, hit bound, and club friendly sounds that possess all of the elements heard on Top 40 Radio today. Michael is ecstatic to bring his new hits out of Hollywood, and to the rest of the world.
